Hous of Brujis

Sabrina is a Peruvian—Cuban mixed medium, self-taught artist; who works with any Medium at her disposal, acrylic, digital, and assemblage. Sabrina grew up in MIA but spent her summers in Costa Rica, where her father first introduced her to building and stretching canvas. A practice she continues to hone today in order to honor the Devine Masculine.

There are many visual artists in MIA, what strikes us about Sabrina is that she uses Multimedia but also models in order to create art with her own suit. After life-changing events at the age of 19, Sabrina decided to begin her journey of self-expression and self-discovery through her art. Later separating her image from her art.

This was the birth of @Y0ung3ggs.

Sabrina turned 22 at the peak of a pandemic and took the loss of her jobs as a sin to focus fully on art, becoming a full-time artist and student.

Sabrina’s work is influenced by social and emotional issues as well as human experience; specifically Dreams, Emotions, Motion, Passion, Self, Spirituality, Sustainability, Time, and trauma.

I know not, nor have I the power to acquire the knowledge to understand what is to happen with us. I have spent years in composition. Eons heading to what the departed declare of the realms before us. The way they liaise— jovial but cold so raw intently frivolous evermore beautiful. Inexplicable to a normal. Only you may fathom techniques of this caliber they speak—systematically of you. How you feel and make even I feel. The most I have possessed in millennia. I have been dead an eternity. Are you, Can you see me? Help. Missing hundreds of years misplaced love. Utterly desolate to the plausibility of uniting with you. My karma insufferable. Here you ask why my soul has decided to become incarnate now. Why now? You, Love. I cultivate many roses, some from my past others from my present. I long to cultivate you. To care and worry, for you to allow me to protect you and take after you. Most my roses dead and dried, your white and pure. Filled with life and intent, a future. You are yet to be wasted. Live my love, live. Breathe and learn. For you have much to experience.

The Flower Project is a perfect example of starting a shoot with preconceived notions and ending with something far removed from what you started with. A wonderful concept, an extraordinary misconception.

According to Savvas:

“A twin flame is your own soul, shared across what appears to be two physical beings. It’s one soul split into two bodies.” Digging a little deeper, Savvas once wrote of twin flames: “When a soul is created, it is split into two parts, mirrors of each other, constantly yearning to reconnect.”

Flames are untamable, It’s only fitting something like bessona studios was formed after an event as wrenching as the split of such flames.
